Purpose: This page provides clear answers to common questions and explains key rules and enforcement policies. All players are expected to understand and comply with the information below.
Automation Policy
What is automation, and why is it prohibited?
Automation refers to the use of scripts, macros, bots, or third-party tools that perform actions without direct, real-time player input.
This includes (but is not limited to):
- Automated spell usage
- Training dummy automation
- Combat or skill routines
- Any system that reduces or removes active player control
Automation is prohibited because it creates an unfair advantage and undermines the integrity of the game environment.
Are warnings issued before a ban?
🔴 No warnings are issued.
Any verified use of automation results in an immediate and permanent ban.
This policy is strictly enforced and applies equally to all accounts.
What tools or behaviors are considered unsafe?
Any software or hardware that meets one or more of the following criteria is considered unsafe:
- Automatically repeats inputs
- Reacts to in-game events without player input
- Performs actions while the player is not actively controlling the character
If a tool performs actions on your behalf, it is not allowed.
Does this include training dummies?
Yes. Automation rules apply for the entire world of Halmgaard, including the Training Dummy area.
There are no exceptions based on location, activity type, or perceived impact.
Enforcement & Reporting
How can I report suspected automation?
Reports should be submitted through the official Discord reporting channel and should include:
- Character name(s)
- Date and time of the incident
- A clear description of the observed behavior
- Supporting evidence, if available
Note: Incomplete or vague reports may not be actionable.
Can banned accounts be appealed?
Permanent bans issued for automation are final and are not eligible for appeal.

Skills & Progression
How do skills and professions progress?
All professions progress equally in their primary combat skill. Each vocation specializes in a different core skill:
- Knight – Melee
- Archer – Accuracy
- Sorcerer – Magic
- Shaman – Magic
In addition to their primary skill, all characters also gain experience in Shielding.
Shielding experience rates:
- Knights gain Shielding experience at the fastest rate
- Archers gain Shielding experience at a moderate rate
- Sorcerers & Shamans gain Shielding experience at the slowest rate
How skills gain experience
Skills progress through active use, rewarding players based on how they play.
Experience is earned by performing relevant actions during gameplay:
- Melee – Landing hits with melee weapons or spells in the Melee category
- Accuracy – Striking enemies with ranged weapons or spells in the Accuracy category
- Magic – Dealing damage with magic weapons or casting spells in the Magic category
- Shielding – Receiving attempted strikes from enemies
Skill leveling and progression curve
Skill advancement follows an experience curve.
- Early skill levels progress quickly to help new players build momentum
- Higher skill levels require increasing amounts of experience and consistency
Good to know: There are currently no skill level caps. Skills can continue to improve indefinitely for players who are committed to training them.
Training Methods
There are three primary ways to train skills. Each method has a different training efficiency, which affects how much experience is gained per successful action.
PvE Combat Training (100% Efficiency)
Engage monsters, creatures, and NPCs throughout the game world. This is the standard training method and provides full experience for all valid actions. It is ideal for players who want to progress naturally while exploring, questing, and looting.
PvP Combat Training (120% Efficiency)
Engage in combat with other players. PvP training provides increased experience gains, rewarding players who take on the unpredictability of human opponents. This method carries higher risk and generally requires more frequent healing.
Training Dummies (75% Efficiency – Gold Account Only)
Training dummies are available exclusively to Gold Account players. They allow for continuous, passive skill training and grant 75% of normal experience. While slower than active combat, this method is ideal for background or extended training sessions.
Player vs. Player (PvP)
PvP Unlocks at Level 35
Player vs. Player combat becomes available once a character reaches level 35. To promote more tactical and engaging encounters, all PvP damage is reduced by 55%, preventing instant or unavoidable deaths.
PvP Combat Locks and Safe Zones
Players who attack others without provocation receive a PvP combat lock.
While under a combat lock:
- You cannot enter safe zones
- You remain flagged as being in PvP combat
Combat locks expire 1 minute after the last PvP interaction between involved players.
Important: If you leave combat and wait longer than one minute before re-engaging, the encounter is treated as a new PvP interaction. In this situation, you may receive a skull even if the other player is still flagged. Safe zones should be used carefully!
The Skull System
Skulls represent penalties accumulated from unprovoked PvP attacks.
Good to know: Attacking a player who attacked you first does not grant a skull.
| Skull Type | Requirements | Visibility | Death Penalty |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🟡 Yellow | Hit skulled player unprovoked | Only you + involved | None |
| ⚪ White | Hit peaceful player unprovoked | All players | None |
| 🔴 Red | 4+ unjustified kills | All players | Lose backpack |
